Imagine you power on your computer to do some research but it doesn't boot or load anything and only shows a Black screen ... This has been known to have happened on systems of varying manufacturers but all of the latest have been with Windows 10.
Typically when this happens, the system powers on but something happens during the POST process and does not bring the screen up stopping the boot up process. There are a few steps that typically correct this hiccup to get the system to boot as it had previously:
- Hold the Power button for 5-10 seconds to completely power down the system.
- Remove any and all external connections, including keyboard, mouse, network, power and battery, if possible.
- Replace Power and Battery ONLY and power on the system.
- Once system shows POST & Windows screens, remaining connections can be re-connected.
- If nothing shows, repeat steps above but wait little longer before re-connecting power and battery.
